This film is part of 1000 Londoners, a five-year digital project which aims to create a digital portrait of a city through 1000 of the people who identify themselves with it. The profile contains a 3 minute film that gives an insight into the life of the Londoner, as well as their personal photos of London and some answers to crucial questions about their views on London life. Over the course of the project we aim to reveal as many facets of the capital as possible, seeing city life from 1000 points of view.

It's a little bit like dating isn't it? You know you're gonna go for a particular type. Wed o have that little bit of a game from time to time when we spot someone coming into the home and we try and guess what breed they're coming in for. Have a look today - there's gonna be lots of people here so maybe look at the breed and guess the owner! I'm head of canine welfare training at Battersea dogs and cats home - coming up to 24 years now I've been at Battersea. From the day I started, even now I'm really proud to work for Battersea - I said if you cut my in half I'm like a stick of rock and I've got Battersea written inside me. Days like this are fantastic because it gives us a real big opportunity to see dogs that we've re-homed and that is always gonna put a big smile on your face. Especially when you see a dog getting a second or maybe third opportunity and the owners you can see that bond with the owner and the dog and the dog looks absolutely fantastic and it's almost got a smile on its face. My Mum was actually scared of dogs so we weren't allowed to have a dog so we had cats and then things took a little bit of a turn - my Mum left home and I think it was like a few weeks later Dad went out and said lets get a dog so that's what happened. I've owned in total 27 dogs in my life and they've all been from Battersea. On top of that I've probably fostered coming up to about 500 dogs again they've all been from Battersea dogs home. Sometimes you can see the good in a dog even if people say there are a load of bad things. Sometimes it's just about taking them out of that environment and giving them some mental stimulation. A bit like people - if you give people things to do then they're usually on a little bit more of a, you know, the right path. I can see me probably at 90 odd hopefully still with my stick and my dog - walking in to Battersea and doing something - even if it's behind the shop it doesn't matter but I'm sure there will be a job for me there. I hope for years to come yet!
