Описание: ABOUT 27TH MAHARASHTRA PAKSHIMITRA SAMMELAN, NAGPUR
Society for Wildlife Conservation, Education and Research (Wild-CER) organized the 27th Maharashtra Pakshimitra (Friends of birds) Sammelan (conference) at Nagpur. The conference was attended by around 350 participants which included bird lovers, bird watchers, students, ornithologists and veterinarians from all over India. The sammelan was coordinated by Maharashtra Pakshimitra, organization based at Chiplun.

THEME OF THE SAMMELAN (CONFERENCE):
The theme of the sammelan (conference) was 'Rescue and Rehabilitation of birds'.

ABOUT WILD-CER
Wild-CER is a registered non-profit charity addressing several conservation issues including rescue and rehabilitation of wild fauna, tiger & deer translocation, diseases of wildlife and Man-animal conflict & its mitigation. Working closely in association with forest department, Wild-CER has prepared Vulture Conservation Action Plan for Pench Tiger Reserve, Maharashtra.

OUR MISSION:
With a mission of conservation through education and research, Wild-CER started its journey in 2012. Wild-CER has trained 2800 frontline staff of the forest department, 1800 veterinarians and sensitized around 10000 citizens regarding conservation issues, so far.

Throughout the journey of eight years, Wild-CER is actively involved in providing veterinary services to the wild fauna in distress in Central India. Wild-CER have rescued and rehabilitated thousands of wild animals and birds in past which included around 17 species of mammals, 100 species of birds and 15 species of reptiles. Recently, we have completed plantation of around 50000 trees in Western Maharashtra.

Wild-CER has organized Nagpur Bird Race for consecutive five years sensitizing city bird lovers. It has also organized workshop on man-animal conflict and several other training programs for rescue organizations and forest department.

Wild-CER has several national and international conservation organizations as its partner.

ABOUT MAHARASHTRA PAKSHIMITRA
The organization got officially registered in 1998 with the objectives of bringing bird lovers together in an informal meeting. The birders are expected to exchange their ideas, observation on birds, their habitat and share the thoughts on conservation issues.
