I drove out past Bandy Creek Visitor Center and Campground to the Duncan Hollow Bypass. Out there, at a junction with Jake’s Ridge Loop is a multitude used road that will take you out to a trailhead leading to Laurel Fork Creek. It’s basically a horse trail down there except for the hiking trail along the beautiful stream.
I have a hunch there’s something, or somethings in the Laurel Fork Creek Watershed I would love to find. Even though I didn’t find what I believe is there, this can be considered a “recon” hike. I definitely learned a considerable amount about the area.
I have a different game plan now. My new plan will take me into those drainages by a different route… meaning no more fording Laurel Fork Creek 7 times and walking around all day with wet, sloshing hiking boots! .. lol ..
