CONTROL NOTES:

The Lil Critter, the Hubley Automobile, and the On30 Mogul use the MRC 'Loco Genie'.
The 45-Ton Side Rod Diesel and the 3-Truck Shay use the CVP Airwire system.

LOCO GENIE NOTES:

Apparently the MRC Loco Genie can run on battery DC power, regular track power DC, and also AC and DCC power.
If it’s receiving DCC power from the track, you can also control it with a regular DCC throttle, just like you would control any normal DCC loco.
This is demonstrated in the two videos linked from the MRC Loco Genie web page (see Sect. C below for the links).
