Описание: In this OET Speaking Role Play, a nurse is consulting a patient stung by bees. The setting of this OET-speaking role play is a hospital emergency department. The nurse is talking to the patient and trying to calm him down. The patient is feeling breathing difficulty and he fears he is going to die. The nurse attempts to make the patient positive to avoid panic. The nurse assures the patient that the injection will cure his symptoms and convinces the patient to have the infusion regardless of his fear of injection. The nurse also collects the details of how the patient will go home. The nurse helps the patient to get a taxi when the patient conveys his brother smokes marijuana. Setting: Emergency Department of a Hospital

You are a 45-year-old hobby farmer who has been driven by your brother to the emergency department of a nearby hospital. You have sustained many bee stings while working on bee hives on the hobby farm you both own. Your hands and ankles are swollen, red and itchy. Your breathing is becoming more laboured, and you are getting agitated. You believe you are going to die at any moment. You hate getting injections. Your brother had been smoking marijuana for a number of hours before he drove you to the hospital.

PATIENT TASK
➡️Respond to the nurse's efforts to calm you down by expressing your fear of dying as you can`t breathe properly.
➡️Tell the nurse that you are terrified of having injections.
➡️Reluctantly agree to have the anti-histamine injection.
➡️Tell the nurse, when asked about going home, that your brother drove you here but that he was smoking marijuana before he drove you here.
➡️Agree to the advice given by the nurse about getting home and post-hospital care.
