Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi performed the Bhoomi Pujan for the Kaziranga Elevated Corridor Project (4-laning of the Kaliabor-Numaligarh section of NH-715), worth over ₹6,950 Crore.

Addressing a massive gathering, the Prime Minister shared his personal connection with Kaziranga National Park, recalling his elephant safari and the breathtaking beauty of the region. He highlighted a critical challenge: during floods, wildlife seeking higher ground must cross the highway, often leading to tragic accidents.

To solve this, the government is developing a 90-kilometre corridor, which features a massive 35-kilometre elevated wildlife corridor.
This "first-of-its-kind" design ensures:
✅ Safe Wildlife Movement: Rhinos, elephants, and tigers can follow their traditional routes unhindered below the highway.
✅ Seamless Traffic: Vehicles pass above the forest floor, ensuring no disruption to animal habitats.
✅ Regional Growth: Improved connectivity between Upper Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, opening new doors for trade and tourism.
