Описание: Red wolves are the most endangered wolf in the world, with only an estimated 20 individuals in the wild. Fresno Chaffee Zoo has participated in the Red Wolf SSP, or Species Survival Plan, for over 30 years. With the current state of the wild population, each wolf is treated as a possible release candidate. This means the zookeepers are as hands-off as possible. Zookeepers do not train behaviors as they do with other species in the Zoo and try not to associate themselves with feeding so the wolves remain shy of people. This will be vital to their survival in the wild. Enrichment is mostly natural items that promote pack bonding and other necessary life skills. The goal is to give them the best opportunity for the future success of this wonderful all-American wolf.
