Children are not born with tantrums or anger, they learn these from their environment. So with the ABC chart (Antecedent–Behaviour–Consequence), we can find the reason behind any behaviour. Most behavioural issues come from hunger, tiredness, overstimulation, limited language, attention needs, too many rules, or physiological changes.

To rewrite a child’s behaviour, focus on three things:
1. Connect before you correct
2. Model the behaviour you want to see
3. Follow routine and consistency
With patience and the right approach, every parent can reshape their child’s behaviour.
