【Music】Fall to the Clouds (ft. LilyCloud) [2025 Remaster]

Описание: Back in 2014, my process for writing lyrics involved heavily obscuring the true nature of what I wanted to convey in layers of subtexts and vague statements. I was embarrassed at the thought of people being able to understand what a lot of my songs were about. Obviously I grew out of this tendency and now I'm a lot more comfortable with my feelings and ideas being perceived through my art.

That said, 11 years ago, I wrote "Fall to the Clouds" for two reasons. The first reason was that I was just switching from GarageBand to Ableton for making music, and this song was the first project to be created entirely in Ableton.

The second reason was that I had been in touch with the artist known as FeatherVOCALS or FeatherPonyArtist. Our friendship was short, but it was wildly influential to me. I learned a lot about myself, making friends, making art, and being a genuine person through her in such a short period of time, and this apexed in the calm before a storm where my life and the things that would come to influence me would be very turbulent and distressing. I valued her impact on me so deeply then, and even more now. "Fall to the Clouds" was meant to articulate the feelings of when she had to move on and focus on her personal, immediate life outside the internet; the feelings of how it hurt a lot to be separated from someone who exacted an incredible amount of positivity in my life, but the equal understanding that life moves on and that's also a good thing too.

I had kept this story of Fall to the Clouds secret for a long time, not for any particular reason other than self consciousness. I've told the story a few times, but primarily outside the context of this song's actual home. So, I'm happy to tell it here now.
