A study into the standards of care homes across Scotland has exposed a number of human rights breaches and serious safety issues.
A report from the Care Inspectorate found that 42% of care homes examined received the lowest possible mark for standard of care.
Scottish Labour's Shadow cabinet secretary for health Monica Lennon described the figures as an example of a 'postcode lottery of care' across Scotland.
