BAKU OLD CITY:
The Old City or Inner City (known as İçərişəhər in Azerbaijani) is the historic center of Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. It is the oldest part of Baku and is enclosed by walls. As of 2007, the Old City had around 3,000 residents. In December 2000, the Old City of Baku, which includes landmarks like the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and Maiden Tower, was designated as Azerbaijan's first UNESCO World Heritage Site.
