Plymouth Marine Laboratory commissioned this truly unique Coccolithophore costume. Coccolithophores are microscopic plankton that form the base of the marine food web. Like other phytoplankton, they use sunlight to produce energy and oxygen, making them essential contributors to global carbon cycling and marine ecosystems.
This video gives a 'behind the scenes' insight into those that helped create the costume which is currently on display at the Box museum in Plymouth, UK.
Credits:
Costume production: Anya Whichello, Lucy Taylor, Ewan Fairley, Dulice Whichello and Millie Griffiths under guidance of course leader Marie Dunaway with the design by Jacqueline Slade.
