With most of the performers from Gorkha, Dhading, Pokhara and Nuwakot, this lok khaijadi Krishna Charitra Leela bhajan was performed at the inauguration of Ganesh Mandir, Raniban, Kathmandu, Nepal. "Khaijadi" is a specific form of Bhajan that is traditionally performed in Nepal and northern parts of India as well. It is a devotional song that is sung in a specific melody and is typically accompanied by the main Khaijadi baaja. Khaijadi Bhajans are usually performed in groups, with one person singing the main vocals while others join in with the chorus. They are often performed during religious festivals and ceremonies, and are considered an important part of Nepali culture.
In this Krishna Khaijadi Bhajan, the event of where Krishna needs to go to Mathura to Kamsa's/Kangsa's palace and all the gopinis attempts to stop him from going there by all the means in fear that kamsa/kangsa will kill Krishna if he goes there. The bhajan portrays beautifully how Lord Krishna would convince all the Gopinis and the residents of Brindaban. Sloks like 'Kangsa le timlai maarcha najaau Krishna Mathura' 'Jaam vane sabai rune Nagai maile Nahune' are favorite lines of mine.
