Back in the 90s when new games were coming out we had to read gaming magazines some included demo discs which had trailers for games as well some playable demos in some cases they would be early betas that would be changed by the final release version and even auto demos too, would also give you the release dates for the games or how much of the game was finished in development.
Some like these also had some cool music and even a funky 3D animation showing the demos on the disc where you can mess with the 3D Camera too
