This transformation happened after an experiment caused them to undergo “Hollowfication,” and they were subsequently exiled from the Soul Society. Led by Shinji Hirako, the Visored live in the human world while mastering their dual nature—retaining their Shinigami abilities while wielding the raw aggression and power of Hollows. Because they control both sides of this power, they represent a dangerous but unique force in the Bleach universe and play a key role in helping Ichigo understand and control his own inner Hollow.
