AUTEC AES-425: Canton Wash & Gas (Gulf Gas Station)

Описание: Here is a retake of one of the most unique gas station car washes I’ve been to! This is the Canton Wash & Gas in Canton MA!

It is a Gulf branded gas station with a super small C-store, gas station, 2 automatic wash bays and 2 self service bays. It isn’t common to see self service bays at a gas station, let alone also having 2 automatic washes as well. But it wasn’t always like this though.

According to maps, the gas station was still there in 2008, just under a different brand and was much smaller. It also had 3 service bays and no C-store. At some point, the gas station was heavily renovated, and a car wash was added, along with a tiny C-store.

The wash started off with one automatic bay and 3 self service bays. The automatic appeared to be a Sonny’s BayWash i5, as it had the rotating wheel blasters that are visible on maps. It also appeared to have on-board dryers. In 2016, the self service bay next to the BayWash i5 was replaced with another automatic, this time, a touchless machine, which turned out to be a Belanger Saber SL2, with an on-board AirBlade dryer and off-board SideKick dryers.

The setup remained the same, until in early or mid-2020, when the BayWash i5 was ripped out and replaced with a AUTEC AES-425 with off-board Premier dryers. AUTEC machines are quite rare here in New England, and to my knowledge, this one is the latest that was installed.

When I first came here, the wash oddly glitched out on us and stopped during mid-wash. HOWEVER, the employee inside managed to reprogram it and gave us a FREE re-wash, which worked.

The wash shown in this video was the $17 “The Works” Wash which included:

*Triple Foam Polish
*Spot Free Rinse
*Power Dryer (via off-board Premier dryers)

Wash Quality: 8/10

Comments: while the drying quality wasn’t that great, the wash itself did a fantastic job! Our car was very dirty beforehand, and despite the wash being a little rough, no damage was done and our car was super clean afterwards!
