Mia Cadua underwent surgery for mitral valve repair at Stanford Health Care in 2021. Now, two years later, she is leading a healthy life with a strong heart thanks to Stanford's cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Joseph Woo, who repaired her mitral valve.
Stanford Health Care was recently recognized once again as a designated a Mitral Valve Repair Reference Center (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023) by the American Heart Association and Mitral Foundation, which recognizes best practices in repairing mitral valves.
