HEBRON, KY (WKRC) - A Hebron firefighter was hurt while he was burning yard waste at a fire station Sunday night.
The firefighter was burning the debris at the fire station on North Bend Road near Petersburg Road at 8:20 p.m. Hebron fire officials say he used a flammable liquid to start the fire but they say it caused a flash fire.
The firefighter suffered second and third degree burns on abut 25% of his upper body. He was rushed to St. Elizabeth Florence Hospital and then sent to UC Medical Center by medical helicopters.
The fire department is not releasing his name. He is in serious but stable condition.
The Hebron Fire Protection District asks for continued prayers and support.
