This Research Series session features Dr. Kimberly Battle and Dr. Ana Diallo from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing as they discuss the Mobile Health and Wellness Program (formerly the Richmond Health and Wellness Program), a community-based care coordination initiative focused on improving health outcomes in underserved communities.
The session explores how community engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based strategies can support meaningful scholarship and sustainable community partnerships.

Convergence Lab@VCU: Health and Wellness Across the Lifespan Transdisciplinary Core
Dr. Battle is a Clinical Associate Professor at VCU School of Nursing and practices in the Mobile Health and Wellness Program. Her scholarship focuses on mitigating barriers to improved clinical health outcomes in underserved communities, with particular emphasis on social determinants of health, nutrition screening, and food insecurity interventions.
Dr. Ana Diallo, PhD, MPH, RN
Assistant Professor, Department of Family and Community Health Nursing
Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing
Dr. Diallo is an Assistant Professor at VCU School of Nursing and clinical faculty in the Richmond Health and Wellness Program. Her research integrates lifestyle behaviors, clinical and genomic data to develop tailored nutrition interventions for cardiometabolic risk reduction in minority populations, with a strong focus on food insecurity and gene-diet interactions.
