Описание: On the 1st of February, I set off for my very first hike of the year in North Wales. It was a crisp, clear day perfect for exploring the Clwydian Range and climbing to the summit of Moel Famau. Standing at 1,821 feet, Moel Famau is the highest peak in the Clwydian Range and sits proudly within the Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). At the summit, you’ll find the iconic Jubilee Tower, built in 1810 to mark King George III’s 50-year reign. Although never completed, the ruins remain a dramatic landmark with incredible views across the valley.

At the summit, I left a stone at the trig point with Alexis’s name on it. Alexis was one of my best friends’ sister-in-law who passed away from cancer at only 40 years old. She was diagnosed on the 1st of January and heartbreakingly passed away just two weeks later. Though I never knew her personally this hike is in her memory.
From now on, I’ll be leaving stones at trig points with the names of friends and family or family of friends to honor their memory. It is known as FAFFOF - look out for it on some of my hikes.
