This was a wild camp of firsts. The first ever wild camp I have done in the snow and the first solo wild camp I have done in a while. It didn't disappoint.
I travelled to Buckinghamshire (also the first time I have been there!) to Wendover Woods in the Chiltern Hills.
I had planned to do a 7 mile walk from Country Walking magazine, but instead opted for the 2 mile trail set up by the Forestry Commission - AROUND AN IRON AGE HILL FORT named Boddington Hill.
I found a spot off of the encircling footpath in the middle of the hill fort interior and set up my Lomo 3x3 tarp and Jack Wolfskin Gossamer 1 tent. The fire and all the hot food and drinks I had certainly kept me warm, as the temperature dropped as low as -7 degrees celsius!
It was a great overnighter and one which reminded me of how much fun the odd solo camp can be. Looking forward to a few more meet ups though!
THANKS FOR WATCHING AND YOUR SUPPORT!
