If I have Missing National Insurance Years what is the key date to fill these gaps and can I backdate them 6 or 16 years? UK National Insurance Explained
So the answer is you have up until 5th April 2025 to make voluntary national insurance contributions for the last 16 years. From 5th April 2025 onwards, then you will only be able to use the last 6 years to fill the gaps.
The deadline for voluntary National Insurance Contributions from April 2006 up to April 2017 was originally 5 April 2023. In March, HMRC extended the deadline to 31 July 2023. And now, they’ve extended it again.
