From Dressing to Meal Prep: IHSS Supports Explained

Описание: IHSS can provide personal care services at home — like walking, dressing, feeding, transfers, and respiratory support. It may also include related services such as laundry, grocery shopping, errands, and meal prep, but for kids these usually require showing extraordinary need since counties assume parents provide them.

UPDATE: Parents can now serve as IHSS providers for their minor children under updated eligibility rules, and as of 2024, IHSS providers also qualify for up to 40 hours of paid sick leave per year. Proposed 2025–26 budget cuts to reduce IHSS hours were not adopted, so families can continue to apply with the same standards in place.
