The west side of Bloomington was hit by an EF-2 tornado around 7 p.m. Feb. 19 as part of a supercell thunderstorm.
In the Fieldstone/Stonechase neighborhood, Carolyn Tilford’s roof on the backside of her house blew off. Pieces of it ended up in a neighbor’s tree across the street and insulation rained down on homes and cars.
“I couldn’t believe it,” she said.
Tilford has lived in that home for 25 years. They’ve experienced severe weather and tornadoes in Bloomington, but hasn’t seen damage to her home like this.
