Have you ever placed an egg into a harness strapped to a parachute and let it fall? Did your egg crack or land safely? With this new challenge from NASA, students can harness the power of data to ensure a safe descent for their little “eggstronaut”.
You can use any video tracking software, too! In this challenge, students use the engineering design process to construct, test and analyze a prototype parachute designed to slow the descent of an egg and minimize the force of impact when landing, allowing the "eggstronaut" to land safely.
