This course shows how to identify unknowns in LCMS analysis employing the NIST MSMS search software. This is Part 1 which discusses my favorite approach for processing Orbitrap LCMS/LCMSMS data for identificaiton of unknowns using the NIST2023 search and associated libraries.

The data was acquired on a Thermo Orbitrap and processed with their Freestyle application. The resulting spectra are easily sent to the NIST2023 MSMS search program.
NIST has a very diverse MSMS library which is very valuable in the identification of unknowns.employ the Thermo Freestyle software with LCMS Orbitrap data.
