Complaint filed against Punjabi singer Mankirt Aulakh by BJP leader

Arvind Sharma, Co-Convener of the BJP Punjab Trade Cell, has submitted a written complaint to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav. In his complaint, Sharma stated that the lyrics of the song promote vi*lence and could provoke young people towards aggressive and unlawful behaviour. He has demanded an immediate ban on the song and requested that it be taken down from YouTube and other digital platforms.
Mankirt Aulakh had been actively touring across Punjab for the past 15 days to promote the song. The track was officially released three days ago, on February 6, and soon after its release, it sparked controversy.
The song, a collaboration between Mankirt Aulakh and Zehr Vibe, was released on YouTube and various digital platforms. However, its lyrics and visuals, featuring an open display of weapons, have drawn criticism and reignited the debate around gun culture in Punjabi music, especially at a time when the state government has taken a firm stand against such content.
