Shot primarily in Nepal, the film follows the stories of several survivors who were trafficked into sexual slavery in brothels across India. It reveals how deep rooted socioeconomic factors fuel child trafficking, with a particular focus on young girls from the Tamang ethnic group in Nepal. Severe poverty, lack of resources, and social marginalization create conditions in which family members are pressured to sell daughters, nieces, and cousins into exploitation.

SOLD. A Child Trafficked confronts the devastating human cost of systemic neglect and the consequences of societies turning a blind eye to predatory networks and structural inequalities intensified by economic hardship and social exclusion.
