the Awini Trail starts at the end of the road on the north end of the Big Island of Hawai'i. Park at the viewpoint overlooking the Pololu Valley and the northeast coastline. the hike winds down to the shoreline and along Pololu Kai (Beach). The Awini Trail continues south, climbing ridges overlooking the ocean. The hike is out-and-back so we can choose a lookout point for a break before turning back. A scenic and rewarding hike; recommended.
