A Day in the Life of a Purdue ECE Master’s Student in Indianapolis | Haylie Rayl
Haylie Rayl, an ECE Master’s student in Indianapolis, shares a day starting at Blackford parking garage and explains choosing the program because it’s close to home, supports her family life, and offers strong professors, research, and coursework aligned with her goals. She visits The Stutz for a cortado and lunch, highlighting Amelia’s bakery and Julietta tacos near campus, then talks about enjoying the canal area, access to the gym, and being able to cross campus in under 10 minutes. In the ET building she meets up with her sister, Chelsea, who shares the same major, and describes how they support each other as they navigate engineering without an engineering family background. The day ends with class (ECE 608 with Dr. King) and an invitation to explore the Indianapolis location, smaller class sizes, and faculty research.
