**This video shows an example of a poorly executed repair of a bent strut.
The vessel is a twin-engine motorboat. On one side, an impact with the seabed caused the shaft and the strut to bend. Both the strut and the shaft were replaced, but the alignment was done incorrectly. As a result, the shaft is almost touching the shaft log, which makes proper alignment impossible.
In the video, you can see the excessive runout of the improperly aligned shaft, as well as a comparison with the opposite side of the boat, where no damage occurred and the alignment is correct.**
