Hello and welcome to Old Ways Gardening and Prepping.🍀 Would like to welcome you each out to my backyard on this gorgeous early morning. Taking the time to sit down and harvest as much Lyre Leaf Sage as possible.

So thankful to be blessed with this healing plant growing in abundance in my backyard. Finally getting the chance to gather it this year and have plans for making several medicinal mixtures with it. Today I will be focusing on gathering enough of the whole plant to make infused oil. One has to remember to harvest respectfully due to the fact we will be needing the root as well as the whole plant. Great responsibly comes with harvesting so that you don't deplete your source around you.

Now let's talk about this amazing healing plant that has been used for centuries and longer. It grows in Zones 5-10 and can be found all over the country especially the Eastern part of the United States. It is a native but it can be grown as a low maintenance cultivated plant, and planted in rain gardens, shady woods and meadows. All parts of the plant are medicinal and used for different ailments. The roots and leaves combined are used for skin ailments such as worts, cuts, scrapes, wounds and early stages of skin cancer to name a few of the healing benefits.
