This is the final installment in the "Motorcycle To Work In Minnesota" (and back, twice) series! Having camped in the Wind Rivers one summer before, in the Subaru with the misses, I knew I wanted to add it to the route on at least one of these trips. Starting off in Lander WY after a restful hotel night, we climbed the canyon up to the only forest road that allows wheeled vehicle travel across a stretch of the range. To my great joy there was a pristine fishing spot just along the route where I coaxed a few trout out before I was on my way.
Almost the entire mountain range is a wilderness area allowing for backpacking only with limited trailhead approach access around its perimeter. It is truly a sight to behold and perhaps I can get some time in the future to get high up into those alpine lakes and trails. Hope you get out there to see the Wind Rivers!
