These glass slides come from the collection of Frederick Blythe (1832-1897) of England
In 1878, his claims were reported in the Lubberly Free Press:
“Myself and several like-minded associates conducted a seance in the house of a lady of high rank and well-versed in matters of paranormal phenomenon. During the seance a camera apparatus was set up inside the premises and later in the sheltered garden; and photographic plates were created with the agreement & cooperation of the contacted spirits, who assured us of success by utilising and absorbing the energy of their living counterparts.
The images thus formed show the ectoplasm expression of the spirits manifesting around their human assistants.”
