Can you pay for Citizenship by investment program with crypto? This is one of the questions that we often get. Today we are going to clarify this matter for you.

Many people made money in cryptocurrency and are looking to buy citizenship. But can they pay directly with their crypto without converting it to fiat?

It is important to clarify that governments don't accept crypto as a form of payment. At least not yet.
However, there are licensed agents (licensed by the government) and the payment can pass through them.
Unfortunately, this method won't work for every CBI program.

The most expensive official Citizenship by Investment Program in Malta will not you let do payment with crypto. Funds cannot come via the local agent, so this form of payment is not possible in this case.

In some other cases, you can make a payment this way, but your source of funds can't be purely crypto. This is the case with St Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment Program.

The most flexible programs when it comes to crypto are Dominica and Antigua Citizenship by Investment Programs. Both of these CBIs can be paid via crypto, and your source of funds can be purely crypto. The same applies for Vanuatu Citizenship by Investment program.
