Russian propagandists are actively spreading fakes about the alleged destruction of the American HIMARS artillery system. The Russian Defense Ministry said that Russian troops allegedly destroyed two US-made HIMARS multiple-launch rocket launchers and two ammunition depots for them in Ukraine.
"Two US-made HIMARS multiple-launch rocket launchers and two ammunition depots were destroyed near the village of Malotaranovka in the "Donetsk People's Republic" by precision-guided airborne missiles," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
However, the AFU Ground Forces denied the reports of the occupiers, noting that Russian propagandists are actively spreading false reports about the alleged destruction of the American HIMARS artillery system.
"This message does not correspond to reality and is nothing but a fake. HIMARS rocket systems provided by U.S. partners constantly strike crushingly at strategically important points of the enemy, resulting in enormous losses of equipment, personnel, and security of the occupation troops. Trust only verified sources and have faith in the AFU."
"Claims about the destruction of two HIMARS missile launchers are a Russian fake. They are wishful thinking. Perhaps the information about the delivery of these weapons has led to increased panic and fear within Russia. In this regard, their informants probably advised presenting such news to a domestic audience," Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar said during an information telethon.
As a reminder, on June 23, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov announced the arrival of HIMARS multiple rocket launchers from the United States. The first tranche, according to public records, included four units of MLRS.
On the same day, Washington announced the transfer of additional HIMARS to Ukraine.
Earlier, the General Staff showed the combat operation of HIMARS by day and night.
The MLRS is designed to engage areas where artillery systems, air defense, fire support, trucks, combat vehicles, and armored personnel carriers are concentrated, as well as to provide fire support to its units.
The system is also designed to fire guided and unguided missiles. The maximum range is 300 km.
