Описание: Estimates vary but cervical ribs can be found in a range of 1 in 200 people, to 1 in 20 people. Cervical ribs suggest some anomaly of development of the brachial plexus although again, researchers differ on their conclusion on this. Still, cervical ribs are an anomalous development that affects the motion segment integrity of the lower cervical spine. This situation is especially compounded in the event of traumatic injury to the cervical spine. In this video, we review the analysis of motion segment integrity for a 40 year old examinee who presents with bilateral cervical ribs, and who suffered injury to the cervical spine with a front impact motor vehicle collision.
