Winter bass shouldn’t bite like this… but on Lay Lake they did. In this video, I’m fishing the Coosa River system during the winter and running into aggressive cold-water bass that absolutely crushed a jerkbait. Using Garmin LiveScope, I was able to locate and target individual fish and watch how fired up they were despite the cold conditions.
Even when winter fishing usually means slow bites and subtle presentations, these bass were reacting aggressively and committing hard. I break down what I was looking for, how LiveScope played a role in triggering these bites, and why jerkbaits can be deadly on Lay Lake during the winter months.
