What our air coolers work by using ambient air to cool down processed fuels. So the hot process fluid flows through the finned tubes, while air is driven across the finned tubes by extremely large fans, removing the heat.

The whizz-wheel® fan system is the world’s most ultra low noise axial fan for air-driven coolers today. Besides the revolutionary design of the whizz-wheel® fan itself, we also looked into a new driving concepts. So traditional air cooler fans are usually driven by gear boxes or v-belts. We however came with a new design saving a lot of weight, size, & far more quite, up to 20 db more quiet.

Energy is the fundamental basis of our lives. With the elimination of nuclear power in Germany, ongoing discussions about climate control & the limitation of fossil fuels waste like ours, is becoming very important heat source. AVA Velsen produces energy environmentally friendly by burning 230,000 tons a year.
A FEW YEARS AGO, THE NOISE FROM THE FANS INSIDE AVA’S AIR-COOLED COOLERS WAS SO SEVERE THE PLANT COULD ONLY RUN AT 70 PERCENT PRODUCTION CAPACITY. IT WAS FACING COMPLETE SHUT DOWN BECAUSE OF THE NOISE EXCEEDING REGULATIONS.
In our business we have to be extremely cautious with the introduction of new technologies into our processes. A failure of these air cooled condensers would bring our plant to a grinding halt, leaving households around us without any waste treatment what so ever. The technology of Bronswerk was so convincing, that we took the chance. And it is a big success because we saved 60% of the power & have a lot less noise produced. Bronswerk kept their promise to us.
