Portugal Vacation - June 2025 - Algarve region (exploring beaches and Faro marina area)

Описание: On our final days of Portugal vacation we flew back to mainland Portugal from Madeira to visit the Algarve region. Stayed in Faro at Aqua Ria Boutique Hotel in the old town area. Spent a little time wandering around the nearby marina and bought some souvenirs at a small street market near the marina. Rented a car to take a day trip along the coast. Visited Ponta da Piedade to fly drone to see the dramatic sea cliffs, then to Benagil Cave for snorkeling and more drone flying (of course flew thru the giant "eye" sea cave - not coming halfway around the world NOT to do that!) then to Lagos for lunch and to Praia do Camilo for sunset on the beach and finally "home" base to Faro by evening. Highly recommend renting car to do your own thing along the various beaches of the Algarve region.

Had so little time here, we definitely need to come back just to visit this region of Portugal. We flew back the following day... up to Lisbon for connection back to Newark and eventually Oregon. Exhausting flights but worth it.

After many months of planning and saving, we took a long 2-week vacation in Portugal to soak up some culture, history, and fun in the sun. Spent time in Lisbon, Sintra, Porto, Madeira island, and the Algarve region. I think there was about 2 hours when we weren't doing something or traveling to do something!
