In this video I replace the starter on my 2000 Honda Prelude after it had some trouble starting the car and didn't start for a while after cranking many times. I made sure it was not the battery by using a battery tester and then I diagnosed the problem as a faulty starter motor. After buying the correct replacement starter motor I began to remove the old starter. The starter is only held by two bolts, one in the front and one in the back. The rear bolt is the most difficult one to get to and where most of the time is going to be spent on removing it because of exactly where it's placed. You first want to disconnect the two terminals connected to the starter, one you can just gently pull it off and the other has a 10 mm nut for it to be removed. Then, you remove the lower radiator hose which rests on a bracket bolted to the top of the starter motor. Remove the hose from the top flange(you are going to have to bleed the cooling system after). This is going to allow more room for ratchet clearance and allow you see the bolt better. The most difficult part is breaking the bolt loose and after you are able to do that you have to thread it out by hand. After you have removed both bolts it's just a matter of bolting the new starter back up and connecting the two terminals that were originally connected to it.
