Описание: One of my favorite melodies, Echoes of the South Pacific, dates back to 1945. Composed by Hal Aloma (1908-1980), born in Honolulu and steel player at the Hawaiian Room in New York City's Lexington Hotel in the 1930s and 40s. More recently popularized by the late Margie Mays in the 2000s. It is most famous for it's bell-like "chimes" as part of the melody, which are double stop harmonics for you music nerds, a sound that comes naturally to the steel guitar. In this song, the steel guitar chimes are a call and response from the singer, answered by ocean nymphs echoing across the Pacific Ocean from a mythical island.
