Maryland women's soccer (3-0) did something it hadn't done since 1996 on Thursday night at Ludwig Field as the Terps recorded their third-straight shutout win to open the season, 1-0 over UMBC (1-1-1).
Ellie Egeland got the scoring started in the 18th minute with her first-career goal. A corner kick from Ava Morales found the head of Alyssa Abramson and deflected to Egeland, who buried her milestone goal as Maryland took a 1-0 lead.
