Starting at KM 82, we begin our journey through breathtaking Andean landscapes, passing the impressive ruins of Patallacta and following the Huayllabamba River. With gradual inclines and stunning scenery, we survive our first day.

The Alpaca Expeditions team, including porters and chefs, do an amazing job ensures our comfort with delicious meals and well-prepared campsites. As we approach our first camp at Ayapata, located at 3,300 meters above sea level, we settle in for a night under the stars, preparing for the more challenging days ahead. This is just the start of our unforgettable journey to Machu Picchu!
