OpenSideTainer XX20 - one container for different goods

Our new container is now operating for Kronospan between Bjelovar, Croatia and Ponterosso, Italy. One block train with 20 containers replaces 26 trucks - and sets new standards in terms of sustainability.
Firstly, more than 100 wood-based panels are brought from Croatia to Italy. There, they are unloaded and the OpenSideTainer XX20 is loaded with recycled wood, which will be brought back to Bjelovar, Croatian, where new panels are produced. Two different goods transported in one container. Next to saving up to 80 percent of CO2 compared to truck transport, this transport loop also minimizes empty trains runs, which makes train transport even more competitive.

Unser neuer Container ist ab sofort für Kronospan zwischen Bjelovar, Kroatien und Ponterosso, Italien im Einsatz. Ein Ganzzug mit 20 Containern ersetzt 26 Lkws und setzt neue Maßstäbe in Sachen Nachhaltigkeit.
Zunächst werden mehr als 100 Holzwerkstoffplatten von Kroatien nach Italien gebracht. Dort werden sie entladen und der OpenSideTainer XX20 wird mit recyceltem Holz beladen, welches zurück ins kroatische Bjelovar gebracht wird, wo neue Platten produziert werden. Zwei verschiedene Güter werden in einem Container transportiert. Dieser Transportkreislauf spart nicht nur bis zu 80 Prozent CO2 im Vergleich zum Lkw-Transport, sondern minimiert auch Leerfahrten, was den Bahntransport noch wettbewerbsfähiger macht.
