Data is increasingly a critical driver of socio-economic growth and enabler of solutions to pressing local, regional, and global problems. At the same time, a persistent digital divide, and a resulting urgent data divide, threatens to inhibit equitable development and exacerbate existing challenges. Trusted data exchange infrastructure and policies can help ensure DPI creates and unlocks data in ways that create more value for more people.
This session explored both integrated national data exchange and emerging innovations coming from the private sector or deployed through public/private models that reach across borders, and show how these models can solve real problems for people, communities, and society.
