Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority, Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe, says the presence of the Dangote Refinery has significantly changed the dynamics of crude oil processing and supply in the region.
Speaking on the impact of Middle East tensions on global fuel prices, he emphasised that Ghana is strengthening its local refining capacity to reduce vulnerability to external shocks.
According to him, the Tema Oil Refinery, Sentuo Oil Refinery Limited, and other smaller modular refineries currently supply more than 40% of Ghana’s fuel consumption, providing an important buffer against global supply disruptions.
