On this episode of My Health Journey, Dr. Emmanuel Aguh, Family Medicine Doctor and Social Media Personality, talks about his career as a practitioner ,his commitment to supporting vulnerable populations, and his highly engaged Instagram page @thewhizdoc that increases health literacy for mass populations; helping people better understand their health symptoms for general categories and then even the categories that we are most ashamed to discuss with our care providers. To-date, Dr. Aguh has amassed more than 149K+ followers on Instagram where his engaging, funny, and most importantly, informative posts receive likes, expressions of gratitude, and comments regarding viewers feeling nudged to seek medical services for symptoms they ignored or thought was normal.

During the “Did You Know” segment of the interview, Dr. Aguh informs us on the latest stats regarding colorectal cancer incidence rates that is impacting Millennials and African-American men at disturbing rates, and other important health topics. He also, share an important tips on how patients can get the most out of their healthcare journey for better health outcomes.

Right now in the US alone, more than 167M have a disease and do not know it. And, unfortunately, a large percentage of the diseases are contagious.
