Today we honour Saint Angela of the Cross (1846–1932), a Spanish religious sister known for her radical humility and love for the poor.
Born María de los Ángeles Guerrero in Seville, she founded the Company of the Sisters of the Cross, dedicated to serving the sick, the elderly, and the abandoned in their own homes.
Saint Angela chose a life of hidden sacrifice, extreme simplicity, and joyful charity. She believed that the poorest of the poor should be treated with dignity and tenderness.
In this episode, we explore:
Her early desire for religious life
The founding of the Sisters of the Cross
Her spirituality of humility and service
Her example of loving Christ in the suffering
Saint Angela reminds us that true greatness is found in serving the smallest with love.
