The last big thing to take care of before we can put this engine back together is the oil pan. The factory truck oil pan that we have has seen better days, and I'm told it won't fit in the engine bay of our 1978 Firebird. Aftermarket ones are available, but the less expensive ones were out of stock and the more expensive ones were out of my price range. So, we'll take the truck pan and make it into a car-style pan by cutting, bending, welding... lots of questionable work to do!
